This year's Ontario Family Day will also be the day over out first Winter Carnival. Here are some events planned:
- Free horse drawn wagon from the Ridgefield entrance to Lynwood Park.
- Family skating all-day on the little rink
- Hot Chocolate and Pancakes for sale all day ($1)
- Family skating every hour on the hour on the big rink
- Puck-A-Buck shoot-out contest
- Shinny hockey and broomball games every hour on the half-hour on the big rink
- Winning side of each 30min game will get a free hot chocolate
- Snow shoe racing
- Cross-country skiing demontrations
- Mountain biking demonstrations
- Tug-of-war contest
- Flip-The-Pancake relay race
- The Great Lynwood Chilli Cook-Off ($1 per bowl)
- Buy $1 ticket from pancake table
- Marked half of the ticket goes into ballot box
- Un-marked half goes to chilli chef
- Winning chef gets 1/2 of proceeds
All proceeds at the end of the day will help pay for an air-conditioner for community building.
